Important Signs


Heart & pulse rate, breathing frequency, body temperature needs to be observed while your pony is at rest to identify the normal stage of every horse. Normal ranges of body activities while your horses are at rest:


  • Heart & pulse rate should be between 36 to 42 beats/minute.

  • Body temperature is about 38-degree celsius

  • The respiratory rate at rest needs to be between 8 to 12 breaths per minute.


Ear, Nose, Teeth & Eyes


Ears ought to be either pricked up, flicking in reverse and forwards, or when the pony is resting, held delicately forward or to each side. Eyes ought to be splendid and clear with a pale pink tone to the skin. The nose ought to be clear and the breathing should be consistent at resting condition.
